This fair trade recycled tire tote was made in El Salvador through a group of artisans that provides employment for their community, fair living wages, training and job security. The group of artisans collects inner-tubes that have been accumulated and would be thrown into landfills that pollute the Earth.

• Handmade by artisans in El Salvador
• Made from recycled inner-tube tires.
• Each purse has its own distinct markings that come from the factories where the inner tube was manufactured.
• Leaf designs have been punched out of the rubber and backed with green cotton, to give it a stylish design.
• Detailed with decorative black on black stitching on both front pockets. Two front pockets, one with flap and magnet closure, the other is open.
• Inside of bag is fully lined with lightweight forest green cotton and includes a cell phone pocket, a large zippered pocket and attached key chain clip. Zipper closure for main compartment, double shoulder straps, reinforced with nylon.
• 14"W x 12"H x 3"D at base
• Pictured wallet in pocket is not included.

    I bought this at the Chicago Green Festival and it fits my computer and my usual 'essentials' perfectly. I also love the zip top and the magnetic closure on one of the outside pockets. I ride the NYC subway and DC metro regularly and it's great.

    I also get tons of complements, including plenty of people who think it's leather and try hard to disguise their amazement that I have such a classy bag.

    I bought this as a Christmas present to my daugher and I loved the style (It's very trendy looking for a "fair trade gift" or "recycled item" that I've seen and compared to other fair trade and eco friend shops whose stuff is kind of frumpy) but it was just too big for my daughter. Just take the dimentions (which they have listed) into account before purchase! Although Greenheart took the bag back, hassle free.

    I can't tell you how many compliments I receive every time I use this bag! It's not only exceptionally chic, it is made of recycled tires (but don't worry - it doesn't smell like rubber!)
