Pot holder - wine tasting

Fair trade pot holder has a loop for hanging and a 100% cotton shell. Lined with heat resistant cloth and foam. Fun wine tasting design made by the ancient art of batik. During the batik process, hot batik wax is painted or stamped onto the fabric, which is then dyed. After one or more dyeings, the batik wax is removed, revealing differently colored patterns and designs.

8.5" x 8.5"

This fair trade pot holder was made in Ghana by two women. The batiker who helped make this pot holder was Marian Barker. The seamstress who helped make this pot holder was Alice Korsah. The two of them were paid a living wage for their work through the fair trade organization Global Mamas. Global Mamas supports the sustainable development of women artisans by producing and exporting fair trade products.
