Batik apron - oranges

Fair trade apron has a front pocket and is made of 100% cotton. Oranges design made by the ancient art of batik. During the batik process, hot batik wax is painted or stamped onto the fabric, which is then dyed. After one or more dyeings, the batik wax is removed, revealing differently colored patterns and designs.

This fair trade apron was made in Ghana by two women. The batiker who helped make this apron was Juliana Mustafa. The seamstress who helped make this apron is Molly Linda Dhan. The two of them were paid a living wage for their work through the fair trade organization Global Mamas. Global Mamas supports the sustainable development of women artisans by producing and exporting fair trade products.
