Haha, I love the review below! Agreed - these are a great wedding shower gift - and although the price is a little steep, getting 4 for $35 and if you get the $1 shipping deal, still a pretty affordable gift as far as other "environmentally responsible" and "eco-friendly" gift sites I've looked at...I usually put set of 4 in one of Greenheart's large gift boxes - very cool gift.
like a lot of people i know, most of my glasses don't match. my kitchen cabinets are a crazy hodge-podge of stuff i've picked up, piecemeal, over the years; and i like it just fine that way. also, like a lot of people i know, i'm a fan of recycling. when my neighborhood finally got the big, blue recycling receptacles, i danced a little dance.
so when i saw these crazy little glasses, made from used pop and beer bottles, i flipped out. they are the greatest. evey time i need to choose a glass from the cabinet, if at all possible, i will choose one of these first. unlike the picture shown here, i highly recommend mixing and matching when buying these. the half-bottle is usually the perfect size for OJ in the AM, or wine with friends in the PM. the price is somewhat steep, but nothing beats the delightfulness factor. They are the perfect chocolate/marshmallow/graham cracker combo of functionality, whimsy, and (environmental) responsibility. You know you want these, so just cough up the dough and order them. If you need an excuse, then tell yourself they're for your friend's birthday or wedding shower or whatever; and if you end up keeping them for yourself, no problemo. you can always get them that yawn-educing matching set from crate & barrel. that's more their style anyway, right?
