This recycled fair trade sari scarf was made by artisans in Calcutta, India. They work at a non-profit that trains and employs families out of the slum districts near the train tracks. The cotton sari materials used to make these scarves were purchased at a fair rate from poor areas of Calcutta. The manufacturing of these scarves provides fair wage jobs for over 50 men and women.

Sari shawls have got to be the softest thing out there - and this is the coziest of them all! The extra length is great and the unique look is sure to get attention. The only reason I knocked off a star, is that I ordered the green one and received one that was light blue with just the tiniest bits of green. It was still very pretty so I kept it, but I wish there was a way to have a better idea of which one you are getting.
