Chaka MarketBridge is a fair trade company that is committed to fair trade practices and strives to bring artisans’ products to the global marketplace. They work with over 70 Nicaraguan artisans in 9 communities.

Chaka MarketBridge exists to provide customers with access to high-quality and stylish, handmade products; to provide undiscovered, impoverished artisans with the global market they need to grow and succeed; and to connect artisans and customers in both fair trade and meaningful relationship.

Chaka MarketBridge pays their artisans the price that they ask for their goods. They do not barter or bully them into a lower price. Nor do they pay them a price that is above what they determine to be fair in their community. This is very important to Chaka and the artisans.

Chaka MarketBridge wants their artisans to grow businesses that work in their communities. Not businesses that depend on Chaka. This means, that Chaka will pay them what the artisans deem fair, and will spread their impact in quantity, buying more from them and their neighbors.

In this way, Chaka MarketBridge wants to lift and accelerate entire communities. Because they spread their impact, and do so in a way that honors local markets, they’re lifting life throughout the community. This means better support across local businesses, bigger education budgets and better health clinics, all supported by the local economy itself.
